FAQ

How do I enroll in a private lesson? +

Fill out the enrollment request form on our website after clicking I’M ENROLLING. Select the course and time slot(s) of your choice, then enter your personal information.

While we process your request, we’ll find a schedule and teacher that match your needs. We’ll then send you your lesson schedule for the semester, valid for 3 days, which you’ll need to confirm by clicking “validate” and then checking the box “I have read and accepted the terms and conditions.” Once you’ve confirmed your schedule, you are officially enrolled in our school.

Is it possible to cancel the enrollment process after submitting the form? +

Yes. The “enrollment request” form does not commit you to anything. It simply helps us find the ideal teacher and schedule for you, and put together your lesson plan for the semester.

Will I be refunded if I decide to stop taking lessons after a few weeks? +

No.

When you confirm your enrollment by checking the “I have read and accepted the terms and conditions” box, you commit to attending all the lessons of the semester you signed up for. This triggers the issuance of an invoice, which is due in full. If the invoice has already been paid, no refund will be issued. In accordance with Swiss law (the Code of Obligations and the Civil Code), our school does not grant students any withdrawal period.

I would like to leave your school. How do I unenroll? +

If you decide not to continue with our school for the next semester, please let the office know directly by phone at 079 279 64 10 or by email at school@gimmemusic.ch. In all cases, we require a written notice.

Can I keep the same teacher and time slot for the following semester? +

Yes.

Simply let the office know by email before the end of July (for the first semester) or before the end of January (for the second). We will then send you your lesson schedule, which you’ll need to confirm as soon as possible.

I would like to re-enroll for the next semester. Can I request a change of schedule or teacher? +

Yes.

During the enrollment processing period, we prioritize requests from students already enrolled in our school. Once you have let us know of your intention to re-enroll for the following semester — generally before the end of your current lessons — you can submit your request for a schedule change along with your preferred new time slots. As soon as a solution is found, we will send you a new lesson schedule to confirm. Please note that the time slot may already be taken or the teacher may not be available. In other words, we are not able to guarantee your new time slot or new teacher.

Can I enroll mid-semester? +

Yes.

We are happy to welcome new students mid-semester. If one of our teachers is available and their schedule allows, you can start right away by enrolling in the remaining lessons of the semester.

How does your 5-lesson "flexible schedule" package work? +

This package allows you to arrange lesson dates and times directly with the teacher. You can either agree on dates and times in advance together, or organize things lesson by lesson.

Please be aware, however, that a student enrolled for a full semester takes priority over one who has chosen the “flexible schedule” option. In other words, if you had been regularly meeting with your teacher at the same time slot (e.g. Tuesdays at 6:00 PM) and another student then enrolls for that same slot for the entire semester, you will need to find a different time that works for both you and your teacher.

How do I sign up for a Workshop? +

Simply go to the web page of the desired Workshop, click CONFIRM, fill in your personal details, and complete your enrollment. You will then be registered for the date scheduled and published on our website.

Please note that the amount will only be charged to your credit card at the end of the Workshop. If the minimum number of participants is not reached, the Workshop will be cancelled.

Once enrolled in a Workshop, can I withdraw? +

Yes.

You can cancel your enrollment up to 48 hours before the Workshop date. After this deadline, you can no longer withdraw and the Workshop fee will be charged to your credit card, whether you attend or not.

An unexpected personal or professional situation is preventing me from attending a lesson. Will the school make up for the missed lesson? +

No.

Regardless of the reason, a lesson missed by a student will not be made up or refunded under any circumstances.

However, if you inform us of pre-existing commitments that fall on lesson dates BEFORE your schedule is established and your enrollment is confirmed, we will take them into account and note these absences in your timetable. That said, the number of such absences must remain within reasonable limits (see general terms and conditions, section 4.2).
