The journey of a passionate musician
Zoltán Kisák is a jazz guitarist born in Budapest in 1990. He picked up the guitar at the age of 14, and from that point on his talent and passion grew steadily — to the point of being accepted into the jazz department of the Amsterdam Conservatory. Over five years, he studied under renowned teachers such as Jesse van Ruller, Ferdinand Povel, and Martijn van Iterson. In January 2016, he graduated and settled in Lausanne.
During his studies, Zoltán was quickly captivated by the music of Django Reinhardt. This led him to deeply explore gypsy jazz, developing his knowledge of improvisation techniques and composition as his primary area of focus. In recent years, he has performed regularly on various stages across Switzerland and the Netherlands, playing in several ensembles.
A musician on the current scene
Currently a guitarist with Musta-Ka, a gypsy jazz band, and Balkalé, an Eastern European music group, he performs regularly in concert with both ensembles.
More into drum lessons?
With rhythm holding no secrets for him, Zoltán also teaches drums brilliantly at our music school — an instrument he masters with equal skill and thoroughly enjoys teaching!
